PLAYING RULES


3x3 basketball, a fast-paced version of the sport, is played with three players per team on a half-court with one basket, and scoring is one point inside the arc and two points outside. 

Here's a breakdown of the key rules:

Ball Possession: The team that wins the coin flip can either choose to benefit from the ball possession at the beginning of the game or at the beginning of a potential overtime. .

Game Format & Duration:

Players: Three players per team, with one substitute. 

Court: Half-court with one basket. 

Time: Games are typically 10 minutes long, or the first team to reach 21 points wins. 

Scoring:

Inside the arc: 1 point. 

Outside the arc: 2 points. 

Shot Clock: 12 seconds. 

No Breaks: Play is continuous after a score, with the offense immediately becoming the defense. 

Overtime: If tied, the first team to score 2 points wins the overtime. 

Ball Control: The defensive team must return the ball behind the arc after a defensive rebound or steal. 

Substitutions: Substitutions are allowed during dead ball situations. 

Fouls and Free Throws:

Fouls: Fouls during the act of shooting inside the arc are awarded 1 free throw, while fouls during the act of shooting behind the arc are awarded 2 free throws. 

Free Throws: Free throws are worth one point each. 

Technical Fouls: A technical foul assessed to a player or coach will result in 2pts for the team and possession. 

Second Technical Foul: A second technical foul in a single game will result in immediate forfeiture of current game. 

Lane Violation: 3-second lane violation is enforced. 

Other Important Rules:

Dunking: Dunking is permitted during the game. 

Hanging on the Rim: Hanging on the rim will result in a technical foul.

Rules & Regulations
1. All participants must be 16 years of age or older. 

2. All participants understand and agree at sign up and or parental consent to No Guns, No Violence, No Drugs, No Crime at this event.

In the MESSAGE box please state you are at least 16 years of age. All minors must submit written verifiable parental permission.

BASKETBALL 3 ON 3

3. All participants must provide ID at the time of the event. All participants shall submit their squad of 3 or shall be place in a squad of 3 when they register. 

All 3 on 3 teams shall play 3 out of 3 games the team that wins two games of 21 out of 3 wins and advances to the next level. 

Saturday June 21st, 2025 is the championship game.

HIP HOP COMPETITION

All Hip-Hop participants must submit their Original Music & Lyrics. Each participant MUST make their RHYME from any of the 66 Titled Books of the Bible and use your own hook NO EXCEPTIONS.

All Hip-Hop participants must submit their music via MP3, MP4, or WAV format for review no later than June 9th 2025 5pm via email sldaasso1995+juneteenth@gmail.com and shall receive their email approval no later than June 16th 2025 by 5pm.

4. All participants acknowledge that by signing up at our site to be in this event as well as participating in this event that the best conduct will be demonstrated on and off the court and during the time of this event.

5. All participants and or their designated legal custodial parent acknowledge and accept when they register and signup via our website SLDA  https://www.sldasso.org/multi-media-juneteenth full and complete responsibility as to their safety and are not holding the event sponsor(s) coordinators and or facilitators liable.

All participants shall have upon the conclusion of the judges and or referee(s) unanimous decision, shall receive their 3 On 3 Champion and Hip Hop Award no later than Friday June 27th 2025 5pm.
